As an engineering educator, Donovan is focused on engineering equity in K-12 education.
Donovan Colquitt is the owner of The Scholar’s Key LLC, an organization that empowers learners to unlock their ingenious through exposure to transformative experiences in higher education. Currently, Donovan is pursuing his PhD in Engineering Education and also a MS in STEM Education Leadership at Purdue University. He seeks to understand how high school students in inner-cities are exposed to entrepreneurship and engineering education. His goal is to discover methods of empowering students to leverage their education, skills, and talents to build a business that sustains positive change and builds wealth.
Before turning his focus on the intersection of engineering education and entrepreneurship, Donovan worked as an applications engineer for Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology in Customer Education/Support. He also holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Sustainable Engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
As a speaker, Donovan has led dozens of presentations that are designed to equip students with tools necessary to thrive as college bound students and leaders inside and outside of school.
Outside of his academic and professional work, Donovan enjoys kickboxing, producing music, and creative writing.
